Each academic year, ASI offers a variety of scholarships for both the fall and spring semesters, providing valuable support to students. Through these scholarships, ASI has the chance to assist students in need and contribute to their academic success.
Application Guidelines
Open: Friday, September 19, 2025
Close: Friday, October 10, 2025, at 5:00 PM
General Criteria for Scholarships:
- No students should receive more than $1000 per semester in ASI Funded Scholarships and no more than (1) one scholarship per semester.
- Applicants must be registered students (minimum undergraduate 6 units; graduate 3 units) and in good academic standing with the university at the time of application.
- Current and past board Members within one year of the ASI Board of Directors are ineligible.
- Applicants must have already completed at least one semester at Sacramento State at time of application.
ASI Student Involvement Scholarship:
- The purpose of the ASI Scholarship is to recognize Sacramento State students who actively contribute to the campus community through extracurricular and community-oriented involvement, demonstrate career goals that reflect a commitment to giving back, and engage with ASI programs that have positively shaped their student experience.
ASI Student Belonging Scholarship:
- The ASI Belonging Scholarship supports and celebrates the diverse backgrounds and identities of Sac State students. It recognizes students who foster inclusivity, share their stories, and contribute to building a more equitable and unified campus community.
Arnulfo Lara Memorial Scholarship:
- Arnulfo Lara, a former ASI Board member, had the desire to serve both his campus community and the extended community. We are looking for those students who, like Arnulfo Lara, have demonstrated a sincere commitment and action to community service—both on campus and in the greater Sacramento area.
Bradely Bayless Memorial Scholarship:
- Bradley Bayless Memorial Scholarship: Former ASI Children’s Center staff member Bradley Bayless was an aspiring elementary school teacher who was incredibly passionate about serving children and early childhood education. We are looking for students who, like Bradley Bayless, exemplify a sincere dedication and aspiration to the work of teaching children.
Chris Ramos Memorial Scholarship:
- Former Sac State student Chris Ramos was an ASI Board member who was especially passionate about environmental issues. We are looking for students who, like Chris Ramos, have demonstrated a sincere commitment and action to the cause of sustainability.
Ron Tanton Memorial Scholarship:
- Former Sac State student Ron Tanton was a non-traditional student who was not only passionate about the issues in student government, but was also a married man with two daughters, working part time as well. We are looking for students like Ron Tanton who, despite the demands of work, family and getting back to school at a later stage of life, still find the time to be active and involved in the campus community.
Shaun Lumachi Memorial Scholarship:
- The purpose of this memorial scholarship is to acknowledge students who have shown great efforts of advocacy. Shaun Lumachi, a former ASI staff member and California State Student Association Representative, had an incredible passion for advocating for higher education and student rights. We are looking for those students who, Like Shaun Lumachi, have demonstrated clear and sincere efforts of advocating for higher education and/or student rights. Applicants should demonstrate how they have been involved on campus actively seeking change to better the lives of those around them.
