Hunger is rising in California.
More than 75% of the ASI Food Pantry's yearly food inventory from the Sacramento Food Bank has been lost due to state budget cuts.
The ASI Food Pantry has always been a space that welcomes and empowers Sac State students facing hunger.
Since 2015, we have helped thousands of Hornets graduate and succeed in the journey of life. This year, amidst CalFresh cuts affecting 395,000 households in California and a 4-week government shutdown delaying November food assistance dollars, we are gathering support to keep our students fed and nourished.
When you donate between today and November 28th, your gift will keep our operation running, which helps 600-700 students each week each get between $165-$200 retail value worth of food, at no cost!
We are seeking donations of $30, $60, $120, or any amount you feel comfortable giving, to also put on a special event this Thanksgiving season: Friendsgiving Feast, for students unable to return home to visit their families this year. We’ll offer a hot buffet meal, music, games, and more on November 24th and 25th!
Thank you for your generous support and for thinking of our students in need!
