  6.  A separate wait list and wait list process is in place for those who are requesting subsidy assistance.

Subsidy Program Procedures

Student parents may apply for child care fee assistance. To qualify, student parents must meet eligibility requirements regarding income and need established by the State Department of Education. Subsidy funds are awarded contingent upon eligibility priority and availability of funds. Subsidy fees are based on a sliding scale.

Subsidy Wait List Application

Enrollment priority & ranking for subsidized families is as follows:
Total # of household
Gross Monthly income (please see front office for more information)

  1. The Waitlist is in effect for one year only. (August 1-July 31 of specific year) Students can submit their wait list application to asichildrencenter@csus.edu.
  2. All families wanting to continue on the wait list will need to re-apply each year starting August 1 (or the following Monday if it falls on a weekend). (Early applications will not be accepted.)
  3. As subsidized spaces become open, families on the wait list will be notified by email or phone according to their rank. (The gross household income and the number of individuals in the household establish rank.) This will take place during the months of January (for Spring Semester enrollment) and June/July (for Fall Semester enrollment), or as spaces become available during the semester.
Applications that hold the same rank will be kept in order according to the date and time in which the wait list application was received.
  4. Household income will be verified prior to enrollment. Wait list ranking may change based on actual income and thus give enrollment priority to a family with a lower rank.
  5.  ASI Children’s Center has a “Student First” policy. Students have priority on the wait list. All subsidized spaces allotted (based on the total of grant monies available) will have first priority.
  6. Families are responsible for notifying ASI Children’s Center of any changes in address, email, or telephone number (916-278-6216).
