Candidate Statement:

My name is Belen Torres and I’m running for ASI Director of Business. I’m the founder and President of the Sustainability in Business club, and I’m also part of the social media team at the University Communications department here at Sac State. Being an active student on campus has shown me the impact I can make for myself and others through action and advocacy. As Director of Business, I plan on increasing business student involvement and sustainability on campus. To do this I plan on promoting services such as the Carlson Center, tutoring services, and business clubs, to strengthen business student participation and increase student success. I also plan on proposing sustainability projects on campus and working together with the Green committee. Combining business with sustainability, I plan on advocating for more solar panels on campus, which are a great renewable energy source that can reduce financial costs for Sac State, and can allow us to be a more eco-friendly campus. I believe I’m the best candidate for ASI Director of Business and I hope you’ll vote for me on April 12 and April 13. Stingers Up!
